Essential brings fire door compliance, certified materials supply and construction fit-out under a single group — so the inspection, the doors and the people fitting them all answer to the same name.
Most fire safety work gets split between an inspector, a merchant and a builder — and the evidence trail falls through the gaps between them. We do all three.
Inspection, maintenance, repair and certified installation — plus pre-handover inspection during construction.
Certified doors, frames, seals and ironmongery supplied to trade — with the documentation that makes them worth buying.
Refurbishment, remodelling and full fit-out — delivered inside live environments that stay open while we work.
Note for the client: this concept builds on the full stop you already use across your site — "Essential.", "About Us.", "Our Clients." It's the one consistent brand decision you've already made, so we've made it the group mark and given each division the same lockup. Nothing here is invented from scratch. If you have existing brand artwork we haven't seen, everything shown adapts to it.
Under the Fire Safety Order 2005 and the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, responsible persons must show that fire doors are being checked — and produce the evidence on request.
Healthcare refurbishment where the building never closed — waiting rooms in use, clinics running, work phased around patients.
Full remodel of reception, pharmacy and treatment rooms — sequenced so the practice kept seeing patients throughout.
A single underused meeting room converted into four clinical treatment rooms, adding capacity without an extension.
Reconfigured clinical space brought up to current standards, delivered in phases around the practice timetable.
Fire safety buyers are told to check competence before they appoint. Here's where ours sits — stated plainly, with accreditation marks displayed as they're confirmed.
Headquartered in Wetherby, working across the regions you already cover — with a page for each one so they can actually be found.
Tell us the building, the approximate door count and your deadline. We'll come back with a scope and a price — usually same working day.
Inspection, maintenance, repair and certified installation. From a single communal door to a tagged portfolio across an entire estate — with the records to prove it was done.
Condition surveys against current standards — gaps, seals, glazing, hinges, closers and signage. Every door tagged, numbered and photographed, with defects graded by urgency and priced for remedial work.
Seals, hinges and self-closers replaced or adjusted; damaged leaves and frames repaired where repair is appropriate and replaced where it isn't. Straight answers about which is which.
Certified fire door sets supplied and installed by our own fitters, with certification documentation handed over as part of the job rather than chased afterwards.
Inspection during construction, before handover, so defects are found while the contractor is still on site — not at the first compliance check after occupation.

| 5 · Re-inspectionBooked ahead | Next inspection cycle scheduled before we leave, so nothing lapses through being forgotten. |
Different buildings, different pressures — occupied housing, live clinics, schools in term time. The common factor is that we work around the people using the building.
It depends on the building and its use. In multi-occupied residential buildings above a set height, the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 set expected frequencies for communal doors and flat entrance doors. Elsewhere the duty is to keep doors in efficient working order under the Fire Safety Order — which in practice means a regular, evidenced cycle. We'll tell you what applies to your building on the first call.
Many defects are genuinely repairable — seals, hinges, closers and minor damage to leaves. Others aren't, and a repair would compromise certification. Our reports say which is which and why, so you're not paying for replacement doors you don't need or trusting repairs that shouldn't have been made.
Almost always. Most of our work is in buildings that stay in use — occupied housing, GP surgeries seeing patients, schools in term time. Access is arranged in advance and works are phased around the people using the building.
A tagged asset register, a photographic condition report per door, a prioritised and costed remedial schedule, and a booked date for the next cycle. Records are retained and reissued whenever you need to produce them.
Yes — that's what the Supply division is for. Inspection, materials and installation come from the same group, so there's no gap between finding the defect and fixing it.
Building type, rough door count, deadline. That's all we need to give you a scope and a price.
Certified fire doors, frames, seals and fire-rated ironmongery, supplied to trade — with the certification documentation that makes them worth buying.
Materials that arrive with their paperwork. A certified door without documentation is an uncertified door as far as any inspector is concerned.
FD30 and FD60 leaf and frame sets, supplied complete with certification documentation.
Matched frames and linings, so the certified set stays a certified set once installed.
Intumescent and cold smoke seals in the sizes that actually get specified, held in stock.
Hinges, self-closers, latches and signage rated for use on fire doors.
Door schedule, drawings or just a list. We'll work from whatever you have.
Itemised quote with lead times, so you know what's stock and what's made to order.
Delivered to site on your date, not dropped whenever the van's passing.
Certification supplied with the goods and re-issuable on request.
Supply is priced and scheduled for trade buyers who need materials on a date, with documents that satisfy a building control officer or a clerk of works.
Send us a door schedule and we'll price it. No account needed for a first quote.
Refurbishment, remodelling, reconfiguration and full fit-out — from minor works to complex projects inside occupied buildings that can't close while we work.
From minor refurbishment works to full-scale remodelling — modernising existing facilities without starting from scratch or moving the occupants out.
Turning space you already have into space you actually need — underused rooms converted into working clinical or commercial accommodation.
Complete fit-out of new and existing space, with design coordination through construction to final handover managed as one process.
Complex works delivered inside live environments — phased, sequenced and programmed around the people who still need to use the building.
Three projects where the practice stayed open throughout — the hardest version of the job, and the one worth showing.

Tell us the building, the scope and the constraints. We'll tell you honestly whether we're the right people for it.
Most enquiries can be scoped and priced without a site visit. The more you can tell us up front, the faster we can come back with a number.
We aim to respond the same working day.
